Zebec Biogas Ltd was commissioned to Design, Build & Operate SSE’s Barkip AD Plant in Ayrshire. The project began in 2009, with the first intake of feedstock in August 2011.

The Plant generates 2.2MW which is exported to grid and produces 70,000 tonnes of PAS 110 digestate fertiliser.

Both Zebec and the plant have been industry recognised though a number of awards, including the IChemE Best Energy Plant Award in 2012 & the ADBA Award for Digestate Management in 2013.

Zebec Biogas Ltd was commissioned to develop the specification for a high capacity evaporator, write the tender based on that specification and evaluate the render responses

United Molasses Group is a global leader in the procurement, trading & marketing of molasses & vegetable oils and co-products and in the process produces significant quantities of high energy waste ideally suited to Anaerobic Digestion.

In a £340,000 contract ZBL was commissioned to develop a Project to assess the costs and returns of diverting some of this waste to energy generation. The Initial Feasibility Study was accepted and Zebec personnel then carried out a more in depth Option Analysis.

Cost / benefit analysis of the Anaergia OREX Hydraulic Press in separating the organic material entrained in trommel fines from the inert. The project included conceptual design & feasibility, site selection, integration, development of a feedstock experimental program and plans for a digestate treatment plant at a local landfill.

Identification of suitable sites from the many hundreds available was a major problem for the Forestry Commission. This is how we solved that problem using advanced GIS software.

ZBL commissioned the Dartmoor Bio Power facility and managed its day to day operation in compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations
